Progressive rock band MONSTRADAMUS celebrated the release of its debut CD with a concert at the Broad Brook Opera House, 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, on Friday, March 14 at 8:30 pm and Saturday, March 15 at 7:30 pm. The concert was presented in conjunction with the Opera House Players.
MONSTRADAMUS has been influenced by a wide range of artists, including Rush, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Metallica and many more. The result of blending these influences helps create the band's distinct sound, but also makes them difficult to categorize into one musical genre. The best attempt might be a progressive rock band that fuses different musical styles into their songs, plays with precision through intricate pieces, utilizes various time signature changes and isn't afraid to be different.
The music of MONSTRADAMUS is created and performed by brothers Mike DeRocher on guitar, Joe DeRocher on basses, and Henry Rodriguez on drums and percussion. More information about the band can be found on
